Our parent company, Shirakata-Denshiro Shoten (SDS), Inc. in Shizuoka, Japan secured organic certification under the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) in 2003 when there were only a few tea manufacturers being certified by the NOP in Shizuoka, Japan. In 2014, SDS was also awarded organic certification under the Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) which is equivalent to the NOP. We know there are many other organic Japanese green teas, but we are very confident in the quality of our tea because of our long term relationship with organic tea farmers and the years of experience of our production team at SDS.
